The whales are stockpiling despite the general crypto market’s sharp declines. Three distinct transactions totaling roughly three million MATIC tokens were logged by WhaleStats, bought by the whale in 297th place among the platform’s top 1000 ETH wallets. On January 24, MATIC’s price fell to a recent low of $1.30 before surging to over-sold levels. It now stands at $1.72, up more than 5.57% in the last 24 hours.

This morning, the mystery bidder conducted a $1,660,149 transaction for 1,00,090 MATIC tokens, according to the blockchain data tracker. Within an hour, another 845 778 and 1,159 995 MATICs for $1,403,991 and $1,925,592 were exchanged.

According to WhaleStats, MATIC is also one of the top ten most frequently purchased and exchanged cryptocurrencies. To ensure compatibility with Ethereum’s Proof of Stake, Polygon EIP 1559 went live on January 18 and incorporated the fee and burn procedures. According to Polygon, the PoS block size has been reduced from an average of 20MB to 10MB.
