Polkadot’s leading data indexing solution SubQuery announces the beta support of its services with Moonbeam’s and Moonriver’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Moreover, this enables Polkadot and Ethereum developers to seamlessly integrate Substrate and EVM data into one place, as well as query this single data source with GraphQL.
As of now, developers do not have an open-source tool that allows them to collect and query data across Ethereum and Polkadot/Kusama. As a result of this limitation, DApps solutions within Moonriver can be confined to the smart contract layer and thus are limited in their ability to engage consumers across both thriving communities. The Moonriver-Moonbeam partnership will unify the indexing of all blockchain data within Moonriver and will benefit Moonriver’s application ecosystem.
In addition to Substrate data sources, SubQuery’s innovations allow users to query and filter EVM logs and transactions. By incorporating advanced filters, SubQuery offers developers the capability of filtering non-contract transactions, transaction senders, contracts, and indexed log arguments, allowing them to build a broad range of projects to meet their specific data needs.
Founder and CEO of SubQuery Sam Zou said,
“While SubQuery is already serving millions of data queries each day to over 60 projects on Polkadot & Kusama, we are convinced that the web3 revolution needs more open-source and cross-chain solutions. Unlocking the wealth of data in the Ethereum ecosystem is a great step forward to fulfill the potential of parachains and the next generation of dApps.
In addition, Zou explained that Moonbeam’s concept is a perfect example of a protocol where we can deliver a familiar and consistent experience across multiple ecosystems with the help of developer tools.
Moonbeam’s CEO and Founder, Derek Yoo, agrees, Moonbeam provides developers with flexibility by offering both Substrate and Web3 APIs, yet this entails choices when it comes to visibility into Substrate and Web3 data. Through SubQuery’s new EVM support, Moonbeam’s Substrate and EVM layers can now be viewed as unified APIs. Using a unified API, developers can easily access all of the platform’s activities.
More so, a detailed walkthrough of the integration will be released by SubQuery next week.
