- The SkyBridge Opportunity Fund shifted to a macro weighting of around 69% by September 30, 2025, after standing at around 65% in cryptocurrency.
A global investment firm, SkyBridge Capital is moving towards macro trades as policy volatility under President Donald Trump makes the market anxious, as per the founder Anthony Scaramucci.
The founder spoke at the Reuters Global Markets Forum in the margins of the World Economic Forum and mentioned the company has profited from that churn. He also mentioned that due to the volatility, the macro traders have done better. The move shows up in the own portfolio mix of SkyBridge.
The SkyBridge Opportunity Fund shifted to a macro weighting of around 69% by September 30, 2025, after standing at around 65% in cryptocurrency and digital assets as of March 31, 2025, as per the filing.
Also, Scaramucci lingered on his long-running scenario that the big picture of Bitcoin is always intact, also after a sharp slide from 2025’s peak. He further went on, mentioning that this is mostly influenced by timing rather than direction, and he doesn’t think the fundamental story for Bitcoin has changed.
The Faith in Bitcoin
Last year’s swing of Bitcoin left dark scars on the market’s scaling. The token witnessed a surge to an all-time high of over $126,000 in October, then fell in a liquidation-heavy washout that witnessed over $19 billion in forced unwinds of overleveraged positions.
Today, Bitcoin last hovered around $88k, around 30% off that October record, a reduction that tested the conviction of traders who had placed for a cleaner policy runway in Washington.
Scaramucci revealed that the crypto industry, he added, got ahead of itself on regulation after 2025’s election cycle, anticipating a faster reset in how Washington writes the rules for virtual assets.
The US did make a stablecoin framework; the GENIUS Act was passed as a law in July 2025, but the wider market structure effort, mostly framed as the Clarity Act, is still moving via the Senate, and the exchanges as well as issuers were left to direct a slower timeline than many had anticipated.
