Is Superchain Eco's X Account the Latest Victim of a Phishing Attack? Market News
  • Superchain Eco’s X account was hacked and used to share a fake link called Optimism x Base Airdrop.
  • The Superchain Eco team hasn’t commented on the incident, and the fake tweet has been removed.

As 2024 draws to a close, the cryptocurrency community faces yet another reminder of the persistent threat of online scams. In a recent alert issued on December 31, Scam Sniffer, a well known security service, flagged Superchain Eco’s X (formerly Twitter) account for potential hacking. The compromised account reportedly spread phishing links designed to deceive users.

The phishing link, titled “Optimism x Base Airdrop,” directed users to a fraudulent domain, optimism-base.com. Scam Sniffer acted swiftly, adding the link to its warning list to prevent further harm.

However, currently, the fake tweet has been removed from the official X account. But the Superchain Eco team has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. This has left the community on high alert, urging them to remain cautious and vigilant.

For context, Superchain is an innovative network of interconnected layer-2 blockchains designed by Optimism. Built on the OP Stack, the ecosystem offers seamless communication and shared security protocols, enabling developers to build scalable, interconnected blockchains.
