Customers of Emirates may now utilize the digital payment solution on the airline’s website and app platforms thanks to the official launch of Crypto.com Pay™.
Consumers who book on emirates.com and the Emirates App with a Crypto.com account may now choose Crypto.com Pay™ at checkout, with transactions handled securely and in accordance with UAE regulations. For reservations priced and paid in Emirati Dirham (AED), qualified UAE citizens may use Crypto.com Pay™.
A Memorandum of Understanding to investigate the integration of Crypto.com Pay™ into the airline’s digital payment systems was signed in July 2025, and the launch signifies the beginning of a relationship between Crypto.com and Emirates.
“Bringing this initiative to life delivers on our commitment to expanding customer choice in how they pay for travel. It also reflects the rapidly evolving preferences of a younger, digitally fluent generation who manage their money and plan their journeys primarily from their phones and they expect the airlines they fly with to keep pace,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. “Moving from signature to launch with Crypto.com in under a year is a credit to both teams, and to a regulatory environment that makes this kind of innovation possible, reflecting the UAE’s and Dubai’s ambition to lead in fintech and the digital economy.”
“Partnering with Emirates is a milestone for Crypto.com and our Pay feature, which is renowned for its ease of use and seamless integration,” said Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer, Crypto.com. “This collaboration is a testament to the UAE’s forward thinking approach to innovation and we’re proud to support Emirates as it embraces the digital payments space.”
The first Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) to get a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license from the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Crypto.com’s Dubai company powers the integration and functions inside the SVF framework.
How it operates
Crypto.com Pay™ shows up as a payment option at checkout on emirates.com and the Emirates App when clients get to the payment stage of their reservation:
When making a reservation using the Emirates App on a mobile device, customers are sent to the Crypto.com app to finish paying with their wallet before returning to the Emirates App to get their e-ticket and booking confirmation.
On desktop: When making a reservation on emirates.com, customers should choose Crypto.com Pay™ at the payment stage, scan the QR code that appears on the booking site, and then authorize the payment in their Crypto.com app. The e-ticket and booking confirmation appear on their screen as soon as the payment is accepted.
The D33 Economic Agenda’s Dubai Cashless Strategy, which intends to digitize 90% of all financial transactions in the public and private sectors by the end of 2026, is supported by this launch. Additionally, it follows Crypto.com’s relationship with Dubai Finance to accept digital payments for government services and expands upon Emirates’ partnership with Dubai Finance last year to promote digital payments.
