- A full audit has been conducted to ensure that all new features are bug free.
- The zkSync Bridgehub aims to facilitate the integration of ZK Stack chains.
The zkSync Era’s most recent software upgrade, v24, has been released on the mainnet without a hitch. The Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution’s security and functionality are both aimed at being enhanced by the addition of new capabilities brought about by this upgrade.
One of the greatest accomplishments of the zkSync Era was the smooth rollout of the v24 update on June 7. A full audit has been conducted, as the developers had before said, to ensure that all new features are bug free.
An important component of the upgrade is the inclusion of precompile P256Verify. Devices such as Apple’s Secure Enclave, Webauthn, and Android Keychain are now better able to sign transactions with this update.
Moving Towards Decentralization
Additionally, the zkSync Bridgehub aims to facilitate the integration of ZK Stack chains and is an integral part of the zkSync ecosystem. This change paves the way for users and liquidity to move more freely and seamlessly between other platforms. The upgrade also brought Validium mode to ZK Stack blockchains, which comprises a new base token and a custom Data Availability (DA) layer.
In addition to releasing v24, zkSync Era has begun decentralizing its governance. This upgrade will be the final one performed by the core development team before they pass over governance to the community by June of this year, as promised. A more transparent and community-based approach to development may be encouraged by this move. After finding a few bugs in the v24 protocol during the testnet’s end-to-end testing, the developers have addressed them in this version.
