Worldcoin Enhances Privacy Features Amid Global Regulatory Scrutiny

Sam Altman Led Worldcoin Plans 19% WLD Supply Increase Industry News
  • The goal of the updated features is to provide users with more control over their data.
  • In the future, holders of World IDs will have the option to permanently remove their iris code.

Sam Altman led Worldcoin has announced the adoption of new privacy safeguards in response to increasing demand from its authorities throughout the world. The goal of the updated Worldcoin features, as stated in a blog post, is to provide users with more control over their data while preserving the security of the network.

Personal Custody is at the center of the new bundle, which also includes the Unverify World ID feature. Modern techniques, such as zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), are used by this feature. By using ZKPs, users may confirm transactions without disclosing private details like the amount or parties involved.

Multiple Key Features Added

Users’ financial information is protected from eavesdropping thanks to this technology, which allows for private and secure transactions. In the future, holders of World IDs will have the option to permanently remove their iris code. As soon as a user requests deletion, their World ID becomes invalid, which triggers a 6-month “cool off” period to prevent fraud.

There will be no way to retrieve a user’s iris code once the cool-off time ends. In addition, Worldcoin implemented age verification checks on-site to make sure that only those over the age of 18 may use the network. Worldcoin has achieved a major milestone by implementing these privacy features, which further proves its dedication to user-centric innovation.

In addition to improving privacy, these additional capabilities bring in more users to the Worldcoin platform, such as companies and people looking for discreet biometric solutions.

Regulators around the globe have been resistant to Worldcoin’s efforts to clarify its stance, especially in Spain. The company’s data gathering and processing operations were temporarily halted earlier in March by the Spanish Agency for the Protection of Data.
