It was confirmed this payment was made from an exchange known for its support of more than 150 digital currencies, Bitfinex, according to the transaction data provided.

EL Salvador Buys the Dip
With the purchase of 410 Bitcoins worth almost $15 million, El Salvador has increased its already substantial cryptocurrency holdings. Estimates indicate the amount of bitcoin the government possesses is at about 1,801 BTC, which is not an official government number. The government added 200 BTC to its reserves prior to declaring bitcoin legal money in 2021, bringing the total to 400 BTC. The legal tender includes the US dollar.
A Chivo wallet containing $30 worth of BTC was sent on January 19, 2022, to 4 million citizens, all of whom Bukele claimed were active users.
