  • Warner Music artists will be able to work with DressX directly creating virtual clothing.
  • The music and entertainment giant collaborated with The Sandbox in January.

Warner Music Group, an American media and music giant, has recently expanded its metaverse approach by forming a relationship and investing in DressX, a digital clothing company.

In accordance with the terms of the deal. Warner Music artists will be able to work with DressX directly. In order to create and release 3D and augmented reality virtual clothing. That can be collected and accessed by fans across multiple social media channels, including Instagram, Snapchat, and other partner platforms.

Banking on Digital Identities

According to the official blog post, artists will be able to take advantage of new earning opportunities thanks to the relationship while also giving their fans more ways to show their support in various digital worlds.

Chief Digital Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development at WMG Oana Ruxandra stated:

“The representation of our future digital selves will be as important and, if you’re measuring by the sheer volume of interactions, maybe more important than how we represent ourselves physically. As our digital identities become exponentially more robust and impactful, we are focused on building partnerships that will enable WMG and our artists.”

Warner Music Group’s investment in DressX under the terms of the arrangement is undisclosed. Earlier this summer, DressX started selling its goods via the Avatar Store operated by Meta, a firm founded by Mark Zuckerberg. Notable premium brands such as Prada, Balenciaga, and Thom Browne were also invited. But this was the first time a digital-native fashion firm was given the privilege.

The music and entertainment giant collaborated with The Sandbox by Animoca Brands to release a virtual environment focused on music in January of this year. For their first foray into the Web3 market, Warner Music Group purchased “ESTATE.”
