- Earlier, Trezor Safe 3 Bitcoin-only versions were limited to 2,013 devices.
Trezor, a hardware cryptocurrency wallet, launched three products, namely, Trezor Safe 5, the Bitcoin-only version, and Trezor Expert onboarding service, on June 14. Trezor CEO Matej Zak announced this at BTC Prague 2024, the largest Bitcoin event in Europe. The products are designed to promote self-custody among digital asset holders and to enhance security.
Zak said:
“For many people, their crypto journeys begin on centralized exchanges before they progress to taking responsibility themselves for storing their crypto on hardware wallets. Trezor Expert not only helps our customers set up their hardware wallets correctly, it gives them the opportunity to explore the security considerations of self-custody in more detail as they cover topics such as private key management and safe online practices.”
The Trezor Safe 5 hardware wallet device allows users to store and utilize thousands of tokens. These include Bitcoin and Ethereum, securely through Trezor’s desktop and mobile apps. Moreover, it provides a solution for managing digital assets, including buying, selling, and exchanging. It integrates additional protection elements against physical attacks. Additionally, it offers various color touchscreens with haptic feedback, a new element chip for protecting data and cryptographic operations, and a 20-word seed backup process.
Distinctive Bitcoin Orange Color
Moreover, the Bitcoin-only version removes all non-Bitcoin elements and code to solely focus on the Bitcoin-only experience. Further, the company will be offering an unlimited edition of the Bitcoin-only Trezor Safe 3 and Trezor Safe 5 wallets. The Trezor Safe 5 is priced at $169.
While the Trezor Safe 3 Bitcoin-only versions were limited to 2,013 devices, the firm said it will now offer an unlimited edition available in a distinctive Bitcoin orange color for general sale.
Meanwhile, Trezor Expert is a one-on-one onboarding service that provides help for users in assisting with their crypto cold storage devices. The service is priced at $99, available every day globally, and ensures that only the user knows the wallet backup and other sensitive information.
