The TON community has taken to the spotlight since the week’s beginning. With the controversial detention of its co-founder in France and the launch of a new memecoin $DOGS, the TON Network has seen quite the frenzy. In addition, community members observed a glitch in the blockchain’s activity in the last few hours.
According to several reports from TON sources, the network stayed inactive for nearly 3 hours. The blockchain was unable to issue blocks which led to halting new transactions. The source of this unusual occurrence was traced to an overload in transaction activities in the blockchain.
Secondly, the TON Network’s official statement reported that due to the increased activity, validators could not clean old transactions, which has led to the loss of consensus. Additionally, they mentioned that TON Core has asked Validators to restart at 4 am UTC today. If enough validators restart they can reestablish consensus.

The issue is occurring due to the abnormal load currently on TON. Several validators are unable to clean the database of old transactions, which has led to losing the consensus.

Following this, Tonscan data showed blocks being validated from 3.40 am UTC. However, the community and the TON Network have not made official announcements. Meanwhile, the blockchain’s token TON showed a mild daily increase after notable weekly dips.
Why did the TON Network Glitch Occur?
TONK Inu’s official post stated that this had occurred before, indicating a speedy solution. The community also predicted this overload to be caused by traders’ high transactions of the aforementioned $DOGS memecoin.
The $DOGS token’s on-chain trading began on Monday, with leading exchanges such as Binance and Bybit listing it in Asian evening hours on the same day. $DOGS is a Telegram community-based memecoin that has garnered investors’ attention.
Moreover, as aforementioned, the Telegram app’s co-founder Pavel Durov was detained by the French police on Saturday. He faced allegations regarding content control on the Telegram platform.
