The Texas House of Representatives has passed House Bill 1576, creating a blockchain technology working group. To join Rhode Island and Wyoming as the third and fourth states to recognize cryptocurrencies under the Uniform Commercial Code, HR 4474 was passed into law.

On Saturday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott made his formal announcement at the Hispanic Leadership Summit that he intends to compete for re-election. Many Republicans have already declared their intention to run against him.
The most vocal of Abbott’s opponents, Don Huffines, has caused quite a stir on social media, in interviews, and even during a television advertising that ran during a Dallas Cowboys game. Smith claims that the governor is unlikely to respond aggressively to him or Allen West, another Republican contender during this campaign.

Furthermore, he said that he has held Bitcoin for years and is a firm believer in the cryptocurrency, according to a post on the Blockworks Twitter account.
