Bharti Airtel Limited, or simply Airtel, is a New Delhi-based Indian multinational telecommunications services corporation. Bharti Airtel Limited is one of the world’s most popular telecommunications companies. For over a decade now, it has been one of the world’s most trusted ICT service providers worldwide, including in North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Metaverse Adoption on the Rise
With the introduction of its Xstream app, Bharti Airtel has made a 20-screen multiplex with access to content libraries from prominent OTT partners access to the general public on mobile devices. Partynite Metaverse will be the metaverse platform through which users may access the multiplex service. In addition to English and Hindi, Xstream Premium subscribers can watch the first episode of an OTT original or the first few minutes of a movie in regional languages for free.
Shashwat Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer at Airtel, said:
“Airtel’s Xstream multiplex provides a larger-than-life experience, which brings together Web 3.0 apps and immersive storytelling, and an assortment of content from our partners. Through the metaverse, we are looking to tap into a larger audience, giving content enthusiasts an opportunity to sample Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and, thus, aiding in driving higher adoption.”
It has been launched as an extension to Airtel’s Xstream Premium service, which recently surpassed the 2-million subscriber mark within 100 days of going live. To establish the Xstream multiplex, Airtel’s integrated media agency of record, Essence and the developer Gamitronics, the creator of Partynite, a blockchain-powered digital parallel world, joined forces.
