SFUND price declined sharply in the last 24 hours. This happened in response to the bridge exploit it suffered a few hours ago. Seedify has sought halting of interactions like purchasing tokens on other chains. The exploit was reportedly done by the DPRK state-affiliated group. Experts have issued security recommendations for the SFUND community.

Nevertheless, SFUND price has considerably recovered from the low $0.0004202 when the 24-hour trading volume was approximately $11.92 million. The ongoing token value reflects a fall of 34.78% and 44.20% in the last 7 days and 30 days, respectively. Further purchase of Seedify.fund tokens has been temporarily halted to avoid more damage or losses to the community.

Seedify.fund Bridge Exploit

Seedify.fund (SFUND) bridges were recently exploited by a hacker who stole approximately $1.78 million worth of funds. Seedify has said in the official announcement that the hacker gained access to private keys of a developer and was, therefore, able to mint SFUND tokens. The hacker is believed to belong to a DPRK state-affiliated group which is known for conducting hacks in the Web3 sphere.

The attacker, after gaining malicious access, modified the contract settings and minted tokens on Avalanche without any authority. The hacker drained the available liquidity pool after bridging SFUND tokens to Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Base.

Seedify.fund has confirmed that there is no ongoing risk to liquidity. It has currently paused bridges and advised against purchasing tokens until further notice.

Security Recommendations by Experts for Seedify Users

GoPlus Security has issued recommendations for users and projects following the exploitation of Seedify bridges. It has asked users to stop using SFUND bridges, check token approvals, and monitor community updates on official channels. It added that token approvals must be revoked if necessary.

Projects are recommended to conduct a comprehensive audit of bridge code along with configurations, implement necessary security mechanisms like multi-sig/timelock, and secure management of private keys. Binance Founder Changpeng CZ Zhao had earlier explained creative advancements in hacking. CZ had also shared ways to prevent such attacks.
