  • SEBA Hong Kong now holds a license from the Securities and Futures Commission.

SEBA Bank AG, a cryptocurrency bank located in Switzerland, said that its Hong Kong branch, SEBA Hong Kong, has been granted a digital asset license by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). With this license, the SEBA Group has taken the first step towards realizing its strategic goals in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to an announcement made on November 8, crypto bank SEBA Hong Kong now holds a license from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

With this license, SEBA Hong Kong is authorized to offer a variety of regulated services, including the sale of virtual asset-related products like over-the-counter derivatives and structured products with virtual assets as the underlying asset, the provision of advice on securities and virtual assets, and the management of discretionary accounts involving traditional securities and virtual assets.

Strategic Expansion

SEBA Hong Kong’s cryptocurrency services are now available to institutional and professional investors. For the first time, SEBA Group has a regulated presence in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to Switzerland and Abu Dhabi, SEBA now has a third regulated center thanks to the license.

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong granted SEBA an AIP in August. Full SFC permission means the crypto bank may provide more services in Hong Kong, boosting the market for cryptocurrencies. The region is actively accepting license applications from cryptocurrency businesses.

This official nod from the regulators means big things for SEBA’s standing in the cryptocurrency market. It means the bank is now active in three different countries. The admission of Hong Kong solidifies the region’s position as a leader in the digital asset industry worldwide.
