Satoshi Nakamoto Becomes 11th Richest as Bitcoin Hits $122K ATH Bitcoin News

After Bitcoin hit over $122,000 lately, its anonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, became the eleventh wealthiest person in the world. According to Arkham, a blockchain analytics business, Nakamoto is believed to own 1.096 million Bitcoin (BTC) spread across several wallets. At the current pricing, this amount is worth more than $131 billion.

In an ideal world, this would put Nakamoto ahead of Michael Dell, CEO of computer behemoth Dell Technologies, whose net worth is $125.1 billion, and put him at number eleven on Forbes’ list of the wealthiest billionaires. But when calculating billionaires, Forbes doesn’t take crypto wallet holdings into account; rather, it follows publicly verifiable holdings, like stocks.

Race to the Top

According to CMC data, Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of over $122,000 on Monday; nevertheless, it is still short of what Nakamoto needs to become the wealthiest person in the world.

Forbes ranks tech entrepreneur Elon Musk—CEO of SpaceX and Tesla—as the world’s wealthiest billionaire, with a net worth of more than $404 billion. Second on the list with an estimated net worth of $274 billion is Larry Ellison, co-founder of software corporation Oracle. Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, completes the top three with $274 billion.

If the net worth of the other billionaires remains the same, Nakamoto might take over as top dog if Bitcoin soared another 208% to $370,000. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas has forecast that Nakamoto might become the second-richest billionaire by the end of 2026 in a post on X made on June 2, 2026.

Amid short-term forecasts to the contrary, Bitcoin nonetheless managed to establish a new ATH of $122,550 despite low liquidity over the weekend. The price of Ethereum (ETH) reached $3,050 in the hours leading up to Crypto Week, and it isn’t the only cryptocurrency seeing explosive growth.
