Rarimo’s RariMe Challenges Worldcoin in Identity Verification

Rarimo's RariMe Challenges Worldcoin in Identity Verification Altcoin News
  • RariMe uses smartphone ZKs for enhanced privacy in identity verification.
  • Positioned as a direct competitor to Worldcoin’s eyeball scanning technology.

Today, Rarimo, a social protocol based on zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, launched its crypto app RariMe. This app introduces an innovative approach to identity verification, challenging established systems like Worldcoin’s. RariMe allows users to generate passport zero-knowledge proofs using smartphones, ensuring unique identity verification without compromising personal data. Unlike traditional frameworks that rely on third-party approvals, ZKs guarantee privacy while validating identities.

Rarimo is known for launching an anonymous, blockchain-powered poll on the legitimacy of Vladimir Putin’s election victory earlier this year.

Is RariMe a challenger to WorldCoin?

Unlike Worldcoin, which launched in July 2023 and uses orbs to scan eyeballs, Rarimo employs smartphones to scan passports for user verification. Rarimo employs zero-knowledge proofs to protect user data during verification, unlike traditional frameworks relying on third-party approval.

Worldcoin’s system centers around World ID, a privacy-preserving global identity network enabling users to verify their humanness (“Proof of Personhood”) online.

Further, RariMe technology allows users to verify their identities without disclosing personal information, ensuring privacy while proving uniqueness. Also, RariMe plans to introduce programmable airdrops using passport ZKs, offering a narrative approach to distribution among people in specific countries.

Moreover, soon RariMe will introduce its first demo using passport ZKs to distribute programmable airdrops to people of selected countries.
