Rapper Raftaar becomes the first Indian artist in accepting cryptocurrency for his performance fee for an upcoming performance in Canada.

Moreover, Raftaar said, he was the biggest fan of blockchain technology and it becomes my dream come true as accepting payment using blockchain technology. For his show which has been scheduled to hold in July has already started taking crypto payments.

Dilin Nair, well known by his stage name Raftaar. Raftaar is an Indian rapper, lyricist, dancer, TV personality, and music composer. Raftaar began his rapping career in 2008.

Furthermore, the need for cryptocurrency has been observing an increase in the past few years. The passion has been assisting by the constant support on social media from the CEO of Tesla and the billionaire Elon Musk. 

Even more, in making necessary arrangements for accepting cryptocurrency as his performance fee, he thanked his manager Ankit Khanna. Raftaar also thinks about why artists and managers haven’t prospected the capability of cryptocurrency so far.

Accordingly, Raftaar noted,

“Nevertheless, I’ve finally taken the baby steps in this direction and all the credit goes to my manager, Ankit Khanna for making this dream a reality for me”.

More so, Raftaar did not reveal which cryptocurrency he will pay in.

Hence more, Ankit Khanna, manager of Raftaar quoted, “In my opinion, music will be one of the first industries to be completely and thoroughly disrupted through the blockchain. The artist can now go directly to the public in every single way without the need of middlemen”.

Henceforth, the performance for which Raftaar accepted a cryptocurrency for his performance fees, a one-hour virtual event in Ottawa, Canada for a private group of about 100 people. The virtual show scheduled for the second week of July.
