Polkadot, Kusama, and Six Leading Parachains Now Live on Dune

Polkadot (DOT) Faces User Exodus and Bearish Pressure Blockchain News

We are thrilled to announce that Dune and Colorful Notion have partnered to provide Polkadot ecosystem data to Dune for the first time. As of right now, you can use Dune to query the Kusama and Polkadot relay chains in addition to AssetHub for the parachains of Centrifuge, Astar, Bifrost, Hydradx, and Interlay!

Robert Habermeier, Polkadot Co-founder + Polkadot Fellow stated:

“Visualization is a key factor in making technology tangible to most people. This deep integration of Polkadot data into Dune is a key step which makes analysis and consequently usage of Polkadot much more accessible.”

The collaboration represents an extension of Dune’s ecosystem coverage, making data more easily accessible to a fresh group of data wizards. The enterprise-level Dune integration of Polkadot+Kusama, Polkadot+Kusama system chains, and Polkadot parachains is funded by Polkadot OpenGov Referendum #366, which was passed in January 2024. For a year, third-party indexer Colorful Notion will build dashboards for the most important Polkadot parachains and projects.

Polkadot is familiar to the Colorful Notion crew since they have been involved in the community for more than two years. Additionally, it was the creator of substrate-etl, a large-scale Polkadot+Kusama index on Google BigQuery that has more than 70 indexed parachains and two relay chains.

Sourabh Niyogi, CEO & Co-Founder at Colorful Notion stated:

“We are thrilled to bring the vibrant Polkadot ecosystem together with the Dune community. Our mission has always been to illuminate the intricacies of the Polkadot and broader Substrate and Web3 ecosystem, and this partnership is a testament to that commitment.”

Fredrik Haga, Co-Founder & CEO of Dune, echoed Niyogi’s enthusiasm for the partnership, adding:

“There’s always been more demand for getting data on Dune than we can accommodate ourselves. This groundbreaking partnership with Colorful Notion brings not only Polkadot and Kusama data to Dune, but their deep understanding of that ecosystem. Our mission is to make crypto data accessible, and we’re thrilled to help the Polkadot ecosystem with that, together with Colorful Notion.”

As of right now, Dune users can begin querying data from the Polkadot and Kusama relay chains, as well as six specific parachains, to uncover on-chain activity that was previously unavailable: decoded Substrate block data tables, extrinsics, calls, events, transfers, and detailed snapshots of particular storage maps. Hourly, data is ingested.

In April and May, the whole fleet of Polkadot parachains will be brought on board. Colorful Notion guarantees that Dune users can access Substrate data to support their research and decision-making, as well as discuss outcomes, by offering thorough and reliable data from the Polkadot ecosystem.

An early set of dashboards showcasing Dune’s capabilities for the Polkadot relay chain and certain parachains have been produced by the outstanding Colorful Notion team:

Dashboard #1 – Polkadot Staking Activity

Dashboard #2 – Polkadot OpenGov Voting Analysis

Dashboard #3 – AssetHub on Polkadot

This historic collaboration will allow analysts, developers, and other data teams to examine activities in the Polkadot ecosystem with unmatched clarity and accuracy and share findings with their community when the ecosystem is completely integrated in the next month.
