PleasrDAO, the crypto investors, and NFT collectors are suspecting Martin Shkreli. He is an American investor and businessman who owns the famous and one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”, but has not handed over the existing copies of the album, and his claims are dubious.
Martin Shrekli purchased it for $2M in 2015 but was forced to forfeit it in 2021. Then the album was purchased by PleasrDAO for $4.75M. Two weeks ago, Martin Shkreli and the so-called “Pharma Boy” were ordered by a federal judge to hand over all the unreleased Wu-tang Clan album copies. He was also barred from streaming any additional content from the record.
On August 30, Shkreli submitted a sworn declaration stating that he searched all his devices and found “FLAC audio” copies of fifteen tracks saved on Microsoft One Drive. Since he did not declare that he searched all locations, PleasrDAO on 6th September, sent a letter to the New York Federal court. Stating that Martin Shkreli failed to comply with the court rule fully.
PleasrDAO wrote,
“We respectfully request that Mr. Shkreli be ordered to undertake a complete search, and supplement his declaration to assure complete compliance with the Order.”
PleasrDAO is concerned that Martin is attempting to devalue one of the Wu-Tang Clan’s most iconic albums. The group spent six years crafting this masterpiece before offering a single, exclusive copy for auction.
