In order to boost development of a multiplayer role-playing game broadened with digital collectibles, Overworld, a game studio that creates high-quality, cross-platform multiplayer role-playing games, concluded a $10 million seed round led by Hashed alongside The Spartan Group, Sanctor Capital, and Galaxy Interactive. Hashkey, Big Brain Holdings, and Foresight Ventures also made notable contributions. The elaborate, cross-platform fantasy realm, code-named Overworld, has been in development at its namesake studio for over a year. The Xterio ecosystem committed to backing the project throughout its development, particularly as it uses digital ownership to drive growth and further extend its community. The ecosystem nurtured the idea by contributing initial financing and tech contributions.
The captivating plot of Overworld, a third-person 3D action role-playing game created with Unreal Engine 5, combines high fantasy mythology with anime-inspired characters and designs. The game immerses players in a realm where epic-scale stakes are mixed with realistic, day-to-day narratives. The group’s primary goal at the moment is creating an alpha version for consoles, PCs, and mobile devices that are current generation.
With its captivating game design and top-notch visuals, Overworld strives to provide an experience that can rival the finest RPGs in the genre. Player ownership is implemented in a seamless and optional manner that enhances the experience rather than depending on it as the main foundation upon which the game is built.
Jeremy Horn, COO of Xterio, is in charge of Overworld development. He has a long history in the gaming, IT, and entertainment industries. Horn is a seasoned veteran of the games business with extensive experience creating and maintaining high-grossing social games across both new and existing IP. He was formerly Vice President of Strategy at Jam City. Proven hit producers from Epic, EA, Sony, Bioware, Jam City, and Ubisoft make up the crew.
