Mumbai Indians Announced a Bid to Create NFT Bridge

The prominent cricket team “Mumbai Indians” known as ‘MI’ enters the realm of digital collectibles ‘Non-Fungible Tokens‘ (NFTs). The franchise’s parent company, Indiawin Sports Private Limited (ISPL), announced the issuance of the Request for Proposal (RFP) on Jan 2nd 2023. Also, the five-time IPL champion MI is the first IPL team to have turned into NFTs to raise their brand value worldwide. 

Mumbai Indians, giving its paltans new and innovative ways to support their favorite club while prioritizing fan-first. According to the team, The RFP assists organizations to design and promote NFTs based on their current intellectual property (IPs). And it would encourage international platforms to interact and develop a strong Indian consumer base due to the franchise’s extensive global reach.

MI Invites to NFT Platforms 

Mumbai Indians have been at the forefront of the future of the web3 era by adopting technology, creativity, and artistry to interact with its enthusiastic fan base. MI has frequently been picked by many significant brands to support their launch and bring their ideas to the world. 

However, the purchase of request for proposal will be made accessible to interested entities until January 1. The cost is non-refundable around $1207.49 (INR 1 Lakh). The eligible bidders will be shortlisted after the application deadline. Further, ISPL reserves the right to terminate or change the bidding process at any time in any manner without disclosing any reason.

In October, the two captains of the Mumbai Indians made their footprint in the web3 domain. The first legally licensed digital cricket collectibles platform Rario teamed up with the great cricketer Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Through this collaboration, fans would exclusively purchase his digital memorabilia on Rario.com. 

Following that, the star of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli, declared his arrival into the metaverse on October 20, 2022. By joining hands with FanCraze, a Web 3.0 & NFT-based platform Virat would launch his digital collectibles. However, their strategic partnership may make it possible for whole MI fans to exclusively purchase its NFT.
