MetaMask Launches Delegation Toolkit for Improved Web3 Access

MetaMask Toolkit Market News
  • MetaMask released a new toolkit to enhance Web3 user experience on Tuesday.
  • The toolkit aims to bridge the gap between Web3 understanding and the general public.

Consensys-based Wallet support and Web3 firm MetaMask released its new toolkit at the EthCC event on July 9. The company aims to simplify the developer process within Web3 and to enhance user experience in DApps. The entire Web3 community is working towards bringing the technology into the mainstream on a global level. They have focused on extensive use cases, educating youngsters, and other strategies.

MetaMask, in its announcement, stated that it aims to remove the ‘complexity’ of using DApps and Web3 infrastructure for the average user with the toolkit. The toolkit is powered by a ‘delegation framework’ which allows users to perform Web3-based activities without having to deal with the Web3 infrastructure directly.

According to reports, Consensys conducted a crypto-based study, which revealed that only 8% of the individuals were familiar with Web3 and crypto. While others reported that they found the technology challenging. MetaMask’s release of the present toolkit was aimed at resolving the issue.

Notably, the current version of the toolkit functions on any EVM chain supported by a User Operation Bundler. Its current availability can be found in Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Linea, Optimism, and Polygon.

How Does the MetaMask Delegation Toolkit Function?

The toolkit, as aforementioned, works using a Delegation framework. It takes an ‘innovative approach to building embedded wallet experiences directly into your dapp’. The delegation process works in terms of user permissions. According to the firm’s official announcement, users will have access to user-friendly experiences in web3 through permission settings and capability sharing, using Delegations.

The Delegations are user permissions granted by an owner to another smart contract account to perform certain actions on the owner’s behalf. Using this method, the toolkit performs complex processes such as smart contract coding with the user’s delegation. Moreover, the toolkit also prevents in-dapp interruptions and enhances the user experience of Web3.

Meanwhile, its parent company Consensys recently acquired Wallet Guard to enhance security in MetaMask. However, the firm amid its recent advancements found itself under the scrutiny of the US regulator, SEC
