Looking Glass Labs is looking to accelerate the development of its nascent Pocket Dimension metaverse after forging a strategic partnership with the Unreal Engine-focused metaverse development platform Cavrnus.
LGL is best known for its hugely successful GenZeroes NFT collection. GenZeroes is a thrilling Sci-Fi action series that’s powered by NFTs, transforming the way that film and television is funded, produced and consumed. The series spans two kinds of media, alternating between webisodes and comic strips, and its production was entirely funded by the sale of GenZeroes NFTs. Holders of the NFTs benefit from exclusive access to each new episode, as well as additional perks such as being able to vote on the direction the series takes.
GenZeroes is not the only project LGL is building, though. The company, which is a kind of Web3 development studio, is also the creator of one of the most promising metaverse platforms around. Pocket Dimension is an ultra-realistic and graphically stunning digital world that’s currently available in Alpha. While most existing metaverse platforms are known for their cartoony graphics, Pocket Dimension is all about ultra-realism. It’s built using Epic Games’ 3D computer graphics game engine, the Unreal Engine platform, and is designed to be one of the most realistic metaverse platforms around, with extremely realistic, high resolution graphics comparable with the real world.
The stunning graphics of Pocket Dimension are showcased in multiple environments that users can explore, including an Archipelago, Countryside, Dale, Dunes, Fjord, Marsh, Savanna, Tundra, Woodland and Zen, as well as a new Genesis Moon environment that’s exclusive to Genesis Membership holders. Within Pocket Dimension, users can customize their avatars, purchase land parcels, construct digital buildings, showcase Ethereum and Polygon-based NFTs, create games, host events, socialize and more.
Having built one of the most realistic virtual worlds around, LGL is now focused on adding utility to the platform and that’s where its partnership with Cavrnus can make a difference. Cavrnus offers a wide range of metaverse-focused development tools that brands can use to create next-generation Web3 experiences. One of its key offerings is the Cavrnus Metaverse Connector, which is a plugin for Unreal Engine based applications and games. Using this, developers can transform their apps into highly realistic metaverse experiences. It’s hoped that the partnership can encourage more developers, especially consumer brands interested in Web3, to build applications and experiences for Pocket Dimension.
According to LGL, the partnership with Cavrnus will facilitate and fast track the co-development of immersive metaverse experiences that can be deployed across multiple operating systems and mobile devices, increasing accessibility to Pocket Dimension.
“We are excited to collaborate with Cavrnus in this way,” said LGL CEO Dorian Banks. “Their expertise is complementary to ours and we expect the outcome of our joint focus to be quite positive. In order to evolve in the metaverse sector, we believe that strategic relationships are vital and we want to continue to create user-friendly and fulfilling metaverse experiences for Pocket Dimension holders.”
