Sam Bankman- Fried’s attorneys and federal prosecutors have come to an agreement regarding his usage of texting apps. SBF agreed on Monday to stop using Signal and other encrypted messaging apps, according to a letter his lawyer submitted to the court.
Access to FaceTime, Zoom, iMessage, SMS text, email, and Facebook Messenger will be accessible to him. Furthermore, he will be enabled to use WhatsApp, an encrypted messaging service. But only if monitoring technology is installed on his cell phone that automatically logs and retains all WhatsApp communications.

Bankman-Fried reportedly made recent attempts to communicate with potential witnesses for his criminal case, according to federal prosecutors, who sought further terms of his release in a letter to the judge in the case late last month. Additionally, it was alleged that SBF had talked to FTX CEO John Ray on January 30. That was to discuss how to get access to the company’s funds stored in Alameda wallets.
Also FTX’s new CEO, John J. Ray III, confirmed to a Delaware bankruptcy court on Monday that the exchange is also getting advice from cybersecurity firm Sygnia after what seems to have been a significant intrusion in November. From the beginning of November, when the exchange sought bankruptcy protection and firm founder Sam Bankman-Fried resigned as CEO, there were unexplained outflows of hundreds of millions of dollars. Ray said that in an attempt to enhance FTX’s unhealthy situation, he had hired technical experts. And that Signia had avoided a possible hack in November.
