The first blockchain MMORTS game in the world, League of Kingdoms, has announced that it would be rebranded as Arena-Z and will become a player-owned, gamified progression platform. A new token (A2Z), a $20 million fund to assist ecosystem growth, and many game titles in development to create a Web3-native gaming franchise are among the major projects that have been launched.
Through the rebrand, Arena-Z presents a franchise-based business strategy that facilitates consistency and interoperability across various games. By the end of the quarter, two more games—LOK Chronicle and LOK Hunters—that are now in beta will join the main title. Players may now formally carry their identity, resources, and accomplishments across all three games.
This strategy represents a change from stand-alone games to a Web3-native franchise model, in which a player’s experience in one game directly affects their experience in another. Arena-Z has established an Ecosystem Grant Program with $20 million in committed capital, financed by a mix of ecosystem reserves and staking, to assist expansion. The New Order (TNO), Pebble City, and XOCIETY are confirmed ecosystem partners.
The native token LOKA will be renamed as A2Z as part of the brand upgrade, and it will be traded at a 1:20 ratio. In addition to adding new features across the Arena-Z ecosystem, such as cross-game incentives, player identification and advancement, and ecosystem-level governance and coordination, the A2Z token will keep all of the existing utilities. Support for the token migration has been verified by Binance and HTX, with more exchanges to follow shortly.
July 28 at 03:00 UTC is when the user swap portal will be accessible.
Arena-Z is the first gaming infrastructure project located in Korea on both Binance and Coinbase, and it established the first Layer 2 network specifically for gaming on the OP Superchain. Major institutions’ faith in the game as it aims for worldwide growth is strengthened by a recent agreement with NHN, one of South Korea’s biggest gaming powerhouses.
Additionally, Arena-Z is launching AZZY, a digital companion system that tracks and incentivizes user behavior on the platform and in games. AZZY functions as an interactive depiction of a user’s involvement, progressively changing as a result of gaming and involvement. At debut, the Arena-Z website will provide a beginner edition of AZZY.
League of Kingdoms was one of the first blockchain games to attract a worldwide audience when it was first released in 2020, with 150,000 daily active players in more than 210 countries. A16z Crypto, Hashed, YZi Labs (previously Binance Labs), Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital), YGG, and other top institutional investors support the project.
Built on the OP Superchain, Arena-Z is a revolutionary Web3 gaming platform that aims to integrate digital experiences into a seamless, gamified environment. With more than 5 million players, the platform, which was first released in 2020 as League of Kingdoms, has developed into a comprehensive gaming infrastructure that is now home to many games, such as LOK Chronicle and LOK Hunters.
Arena-Z, one of the pioneers of blockchain-powered gaming, is dedicated to pushing the envelope both technically and creatively, filling in gaps in the player experience and reinventing the relationship between Web3’s content, identity, and growth.
