Kaia-Powered Mini Dapps on LINE Messenger Drive Unprecedented Web3 Adoption in Asia

Kaia-Powered Mini Dapps on LINE Messenger Drive Unprecedented Web3 Adoption in Asia Blockchain News
  • Mini Dapps have not only achieved strong user adoption, but they have also generated in-app sales of up to USD 2 million.
  • An exceptional average revenue per paying user (ARPPU) of USD 39 and a paying user rate (PUR) of approximately 13% are two factors that contribute to the strong performance.

The Kaia DLT Foundation (Kaia) has made an announcement that the Mini Dapps on LINE that are powered by Kaia have gathered more than 35 million users in only one month since their inception. Mini Dapps have not only achieved strong user adoption, but they have also generated in-app sales of up to USD 2 million, especially in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea. The first 32 Mini Dapps were released on January 221, and more are scheduled to appear in the next months. An exceptional average revenue per paying user (ARPPU) of USD 39 and a paying user rate (PUR) of approximately 13% are two factors that contribute to the strong performance. These findings provide credence to the approach that Kaia and LINE NEXT have taken to cater to Asian customers. Asian consumers are the most significant contributors to the worldwide in-app purchase (IAP) industry, spending forty percent more than consumers in other countries.

Additionally, since the debut of Dapp Portal on LINE Messenger, the Kaia chain has adopted over 7.37 million newly generated digital wallets, which is a 1,168% growth. Dapp Portal alone has been responsible for enabling 3 million additional wallets. The latest report by Flipside, which demonstrates that Kaia has become the third-largest EVM blockchain in terms of active wallet addresses, is supported by the spike in the number of wallets that are now active. Additionally, the number of on-chain active users surged by 252% to 8.1 million, while the number of monthly transactions on Kaia significantly increased by 124% to 27.38 million.

Within the familiar environment of LINE Messenger, which is used by approximately 196 million people across Asia, the Mini Dapp platform, which is a joint effort between Kaia and LINE NEXT, provides a seamless user experience (UX) that is similar to that of Web2 and makes it simple to discover Dapps through the Dapp Portal. Dapp Portal’s inclusion of crypto/fiat payment alternatives will further encourage hybrid business models that combine the capabilities of Web2’s existing F2P and IAP models with Web3’s liquid digital assets. These models will include both cryptocurrency and fiat currency payments. Mini Dapps will have the chance to establish sustainable income streams that go beyond token generation events (TGEs), transaction fees, and erratic token price action as a result of this innovation, which will lead to a unique opportunity.

Youngsu Ko, CEO of LINE NEXT stated:

“We are seeing explosive growth from all the regions where LINE is prevalent. This proves that we are now ready to popularize Web3 and as Dapps are planning to list their tokens, we expect to further expand our user base.”

Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of Kaia DLT Foundation stated:

“Our remarkable achievements in just one month since launching Mini Dapps showcases how a blockchain ecosystem can drive profitable growth while enhancing scalability. Aiming to deliver the best of Web3 to Asian users, Kaia will continue to evolve by collaborating with exceptional builders and partners worldwide.”

While this is going on, Kaia intends to further improve its payments infrastructure, beginning with the introduction of a native USD stablecoin on the Kaia network. Not only will these enhancements make builder settlements more efficient by utilizing $KAIA and stablecoins that have been converted from fiat revenues, but they will also make it possible to implement blockchain-based digital payment solutions that are seamlessly integrated with Asia’s most popular messaging superapps.
