Brazilian authorities have registered Meta’s trademark for various Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto-related services, including hardware and software design, development, production, and distribution.
Even though it has been repeatedly denied entry into the cryptocurrency market due to regulatory obstacles, Meta was recently renamed from Facebook to reflect its Metaverse efforts better. Trademarks relating to trading, wallets, and exchanges platforms have been registered with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) by Meta.
The application for registration was published on January 25 and is presently awaiting opposition before INPI approval. According to the filing, Meta’s trademark filing order was made on October 5, 2021, from Jamaica.
A lot of Potential in This Space
Apple’s stock price shot up after CEO Tim Cook indicated he saw a lot of promise in the Metaverse during the company’s Q1 2022 earnings call. “The metaverse” was a topic Tim Cook brought up during Apple’s Q1 2022 conference call with analysts and investors. When Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty asked Cook a question, he replied that Apple sees a “lot of potential in this space.”
As part of his grand vision to create a virtual metaverse, Mark Zuckerberg has stated that his social media business is developing the world’s fastest artificial intelligence supercomputer.
According to a blog post by the Facebook creator, “enormous” computing power is needed for the Metaverse, which is an idea that combines the physical and digital worlds through augmented or virtual reality. It has been reported that Zuckerberg’s Meta business’ AI supercomputer, named AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), has already surpassed the world’s top five fastest supercomputers.
