  • Ex-Google CEO is more intrigued by the web 3.

In a reoccurring video, the ex-CEO and Chairman Eric Schmidt said that Bitcoin (BTC) is the largest and longest-running cryptocurrency by market capitalization, a remarkable cryptographic achievement.

In an interview with the Computer History Museum in 2014, Schmidt applauded the technology behind Bitcoin (BTC), saying that the fact that digital assets cannot be duplicated makes it beneficial for businesses and that many will eventually build on top of it.

Eric Schmidt said

“A significantly remarkable cryptography is Bitcoin. It is really valuable to be able to develop something that cannot be replicated in the digital world. the structure of bitcoin. It’s an incredible advancement to have these non-replicable ledgers, to put it mildly. Many people will expand their businesses on top of that..”

Schmidt made these priceless comments, it should be remembered, when Bitcoin was still having trouble finding widespread acceptance. He was one of many who paved the way for the major cryptocurrency’s rise to fame, even though his opinion about it at the time seemed to go ignored.

In an interview with CNBC in April, he discussed his thoughts on cryptocurrencies and said that he had made a small investment in them but was more interested in the web 3.

“A new model [of the internet] where you as an individual [can] control your identity, and where you don’t have a centralized manager, is very powerful. It’s very seductive and it’s very decentralized. I remember that feeling when I was 25 that decentralization would be everything.”
