- The crypto mastermind behind a series of crypto kidnaps has been arrested.

One of the masterminds behind crypto kidnapping in France has been reportedly arrested in Morocco. The national police and intelligence service of Morocco arrested a 24-year-old accused named Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou.
The accused was found in possession of various bladed weapons and mobile phones. The arrest was initiated on the request of French authorities.
Gerald Darmanin, the Minister of Justice in France, posted on X on June 4, applauding the arrest and thanking Morocco for the arrest. He further mentioned that the arrest shows the excellent judicial cooperation between the two countries, mainly against organized crime.
A red notice was issued for Bajjou’s arrest by Interpol in 2023. The notice alleged that Bajjou was associated with other kidnappings and illicit activities.
The recent kidnapping was carried out on May 13, when various kidnappers tried to kidnap the daughter and the grandson of Pierre Noizat. A video of the kidnapping was shot by a passerby, which reveals that Noizat’s daughter prevented the attack with the help of bystanders.
Other Crypto Kidnaps
On May 3, the police of the capital city freed the father of a crypto entrepreneur who was held for a prolonged period in association with a 7 million euro or $ 7.8 million kidnapping plot.
At the beginning of this year, the co-founder of Ledger, David Balland, was kidnapped from his home in central France in the early hours of January 21. After this, on January 22, a police operation was conducted that safeguarded his release.
As per the reports, French Law enforcement is increasing security for crypto officials as well as their families against various crypto-associated kidnappings. The enforcement is prioritizing access to police emergency lines, home security assessments, along with safety briefings to make sure that best practices are being followed.
Another kidnapping that grabbed the attention of many people was of WonderFu CEO Dean Skurka. He was first kidnapped and then forced to pay a $ 1 million crypto ransom to the kidnappers.
