A prominent South Korean game publisher, Com2uS Group, has joined the Oasys crypto gaming ecosystem with the release of two significant games in major franchises and their own layer-2 chain, XPLA Verse.
The action role-playing game Summoners War: Chronicles, a spinoff of the 220 million+ download Summoners War: Sky Arena, has found a new home on XPLA Verse. Based on the zombie comic book series, it also currently hosts The Walking Dead: All-Stars.
Known for its mobile gaming footprint in South Korea, Com2uS has been speeding up its Web3 strategy and was an initial validator in the Oasys ecosystem last year. These two games are the first in a planned migration of the company’s XPLA crypto gaming ecosystem to Oasys, which was announced in February.
The official announcement reads:
“Com2uS and XPLA aim to leverage Oasys’ deep knowledge of Japan’s regulatory framework to strengthen their market presence and onboard more East Asian users.”
Ubisoft, one of many big names in the video game industry, is using Oasys to create its first blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, which will launch later this year. Bandai Namco debuted an experimental AI-driven game last year, and Sega has also added its intellectual property to the network.
