Circle Internet Financial, the company behind the USDC stablecoin, has appointed former CFTC chairman Heath Tarbert to serve as the company’s chief legal officer and director of corporate affairs. Tarbert worked in the executive, legislative, and judicial departments of the federal government, as well as the CFTC.

Heath Tarbert was the vice chairman of the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the 14th chairman and chief executive of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
