According to Cimu Games, it is re-releasing its million-copy-selling game Runestone Keeper utilizing web3 game production tools from Ready Games. A first for web3 gaming, the web3-enabled beta version of the game, which took up the Best Gameplay prize at the 2014 Unity Awards, will debut in late Q1 on PC, console, and mobile.
The web2 mobile and console games produced by Innoteg, the parent business of Cimu Games, are well-known. Its team has chosen to employ Ready’s multi-platform tech stack to break into this expanding market niche because they feel that web3 is the future of gaming.
Josh Furr, Marketing Director of Cimu Games, said:
“We are thrilled and honored to be a part of Ready’s family of like-minded web3 developers. Our goal is not only to bring Runestone Keeper to Ready, but to reward players with valuable game assets and a variety of future games and titles.”
Six games are already utilizing the web3 migration platform from Ready Games, and Runestone Keeper is scheduled to join them in Q1 after the complete release of Ready’s tech stack. Before being published to critical acclaim on Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox in 2015, Runestone Keeper earned SlideDb’s “App of the Year” award.
Christina Macedo, COO of Ready Games, said:
“We are thrilled to enable multi-platform games to enter into web3. Runestone Keeper, with its great history and community, is the ideal game for us to partner with to launch our web3 gaming development tools across multiple platforms. Together we can reach more gamers worldwide on PC, console and mobile and further innovate and expand the web3 gaming experience.”
Now that Ready has a web3-compatible tech stack, it can be published on PC, mobile devices, and gaming consoles. Runestone Keeper will launch its beta in March, followed by a full release later in Q2.
