In the next five years, Juniper Research predicts that there will be 40 million NFT transactions. The research predicts that metaverse-related use cases will be a major factor in the widespread implementation of NFT. These particular NFTs will expand at a considerable pace during the next five years. There will be 9.8 million transactions using NFTs connected to the metaverse by 2027, up from 600,000 in 2022.
To a large extent, NFTs are art-related. It’s no secret that the NFT community is completely obsessed with music. This is confirmed further by the results of a recent Ripple study that looked at the level of interest in NFT among major financial institutions. The NFTs using music were the ones that interested people the most. It’s hardly surprising that famous musicians would want to protect their identity in the NFT and Metaverse.
Rising Interest of Celebrities
Miley Cyrus, a worldwide star, is the newest celebrity to get on the bandwagon. On August 16, Cyrus filed trademark applications with the USPTO for the names “Miley” and “Miley Cyrus,” according to a tweet from NFT and metaverse trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis.
In a similar vein, in May, it was made public that Billie Eilish, a popular songwriter and singer, had trademarked both her name and the Blohsh logo via her company, Lash Music LLC.
Snoop Dogg, an American artist, is making great inroads into NFTs and the metaverse after filing fresh trademark applications for multiple items in June. The rapper also connected fellow rapper Eminem with NFTs. Both of their Bored Ape NFTs are included in a song that was recently published.
