Through Binance Pay, a secure and easy cryptocurrency payment option made possible by Binance in collaboration with French fintech Lyzi, more than 80 shops along the French Riviera now accept stablecoins and cryptocurrency payments. The region is now leading the way in digital payment innovation for luxury travel, retail, and hospitality thanks to this deployment.

The effort, which spans Cannes, Nice, Antibes, Monaco, and the neighboring territories, involves a diverse variety of establishments, from beach clubs and local service providers to restaurants and luxury shops, making cryptocurrency purchases easier than ever in one of Europe’s most famous tourism destinations.

The launch comes after Cannes city authorities set an ambitious aim earlier this year to promote the wider use of digital assets by local enterprises. The French Riviera is rapidly emerging as a paradigm for the implementation of cryptocurrency in the real world thanks to strong municipal backing and growing demand from tourists from outside.

Both users and businesses may benefit from a smooth and safe cryptocurrency payment experience thanks to Binance Pay and Lyzi’s cooperation. Stablecoins and other cryptocurrencies may now be used by both residents and tourists to pay for a variety of things without paying for gas fees. Everything from eating and lodging to renting a vehicle and shopping may be done by just scanning a QR code, which quickly verifies the transaction.

Visitors may effortlessly traverse their whole stay on the French Riviera with only stablecoins and cryptocurrency payments thanks to coverage in the areas of eating, lodging, shopping, and transportation. The solution gives merchants instant euro settlement and supports over 100 cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins backed by the euro and the dollar, thanks to integration with Binance Pay and Lyzi. This ensures a smooth checkout process.

With much reduced transaction fees than conventional payment methods and strong security features like two-factor authentication, encrypted transfers, and real-time confirmations, Binance Pay offers a reliable and convenient alternative. Additionally, by enabling small vendors—including those in more distant locations—to take digital payments, the system enables them to interact with a wider range of clients.

David Princay, CEO of Binance France stated:

“The adoption of crypto payments in a world-class destination like the French Riviera shows that digital assets are becoming part of everyday life. This initiative is a powerful example of public-private collaboration — local authorities and businesses working together to make the region more attractive, innovative, and in step with the growing number of people embracing stablecoins and crypto payments worldwide.”

Through Binance Pay and Lyzi, a variety of establishments on the French Riviera now accept cryptocurrency purchases, including upscale shops, lifestyle services, and famous seaside attractions.

  • The JW Marriott, Hotel Gray d’Albion, and Le Majestic in Cannes are examples of upscale hospitality establishments.
  • Restaurants such as Palais Stéphanie Beach, Copal Beach, La Guérite, LUIGI, Gina (Nice), and Restaurant Le César (Antibes) are among the beach and nightclubs.
  • Parker and Smith, Art in Time (Monaco), and luxury and watch workmanship
  • Small companies in the lifestyle and wellness industries, such as Palm Gym and L’Opticienne Verte (Antibes)

“We’ve seen exceptional enthusiasm from merchants, they’re excited to be leading the way for crypto payments acceptance in France” said Damien Patureaux, CEO of Lyzi. “We’re turning vision into reality, supporting local economies and enabling effortless, secure payments for crypto users from around the world.”

Binance Pay is launching a regional advertising campaign from June 28 to July 6 to help local companies who already accept cryptocurrency payments and to promote this new potential for spending with cryptocurrency around the French Riviera. Five EURI, the first bank-issued, euro-backed stablecoin completely compliant with the EU’s MiCA regulation, will be awarded to customers who make a single transaction of at least twenty euros (or the equivalent in cryptocurrency) at any crypto-friendly merchant that accepts cryptocurrency payments through Binance Pay and the Lyzi platform.

The first 1,999 eligible users may participate in the campaign, and within 30 days after it ends, rewards will be sent straight to participants’ Binance funding wallets. By promoting the practical applications of cryptocurrency in a safe and regulated setting, this initiative hopes to uplift local companies and incentivize customers to use digital payments.
