Crypto Mining Faces Challenges in the United States

Former US President Joe Biden issued an order to ban crypto mining firm, Mine One Partners Limited. This company has a majority of ownership from China and operating near an Air Force base imposed risks to national security. While this scenario might be justified, all the crypto mining operations may not pose this kind of risk.

President Donald Trump has promised to support the crypto mining industry. The United States accounts for more than 40% of the crypto mining and Trump would like to mine all of future Bitcoin in the country.

Crypto mining imposes risk to environmental sustainability with its consumption of high power and production of environmental waste. However, Trump’s presidency is more focused on making the country a global leader in all aspects than climate change.
