An NFT is a unique digital token created through blockchain technology. More so, NFTs represent a wide variety of tangible and intangible items. However, NFTs usually provide digital ownership, as well as hold real-world prices.

Marvel Entertainment Partners With Orbis Blockchain

Marvel Entertainment and Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited, a digital collectibles firm operating the VeVe Digital Collectibles application, announced a new partnership. In order to release a global digital collectibles experience in the next few months.

Moreover, fans will be able to buy and interact for the first time with official Marvel NFT digital collectibles. Also, 3D statues and digital comic books through mixed reality on VeVe’s application platform.

Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley adds,

“Since the beginning, collecting has always gone hand in hand with being a Marvel fan…Like us, Veve understands collecting is about the experience just as much as the product, and we look forward to extending that experience for our fans over the years to come”

Added to this, the announcement mentioned that Veve app users can also hunt for rare NFT comic books and collectibles. However, they could display their hard-earned collection via fully customizable virtual showrooms.

In-app currency of Veve is called gems. The gems will be needed to buy official Marvel NFT products and NFT owners could sell them once again through Veve’s marketplace.

Notably, Marvel follows the comic maker’s competitor, DC Comics, which explains that it would be launching NFTs in March 2021. This was preceded by a letter sent to freelance artists from DC Comics’ legal representative that told freelance artists to cease making DC Comics-based  NFTs.

Further details about Marvel’s exciting new digital collectibles coming to Veve will be shared in the coming weeks.
