Elon Musk Tags Apple CEO Over Stopping Advertising on Twitter

Bitcoin News
  • Several major companies have put off advertising on Twitter ever since Musk took over.
  • Musk said back in early November that Twitter has lost “massive” income.

An alleged message from Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, claims that Apple has pulled its ads from the platform. Elon Musk, in light of Apple suspending its advertising plans on Twitter, tagged Apple’s CEO Tim Cook in a tweet asking if the tech giant was opposed to free speech in the United States.

Musk said back in early November that Twitter has lost “massive” income and put the blame on activist organizations that were putting pressure on advertisers.

Advertisers Upset

Several major companies have put off advertising on Twitter ever since Musk completed his acquisition, including General Mills Inc. and the luxury manufacturer Audi. In addition, General Motors Co. said that it has temporarily suspended all sponsored advertising on the platform.

According to Pathmatics, an advertising monitoring firm, Apple spent almost $131,600 on Twitter ads between the dates of November 10 and November 16. This is less than the $220,800 the business spent between October 16 and October 22, the week before Musk finalized the purchase of Twitter.

The new age of the social media platform Twitter began with Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company. Elon Musk is looking to generate revenue from his $44 billion acquisition of the microblogging service, so he recently announced that the blue checkmark authentication feature will cost users $8 per month.

For $8 a month, users get priority in search results, mentions, and answers, as well as the ability to submit longer audio and video material without being subject to paywalls. Users will also get early access to responses and exclusive features.
